PURPOSE:To generate three 120 deg. out-of-phase signals from a single input signal by generating the 2nd signal which is 120 deg. out of phase with the 1st signal and making a vector addition between the inverted signal of the 2nd signal which is 120 deg. out of phase and the inverted signal of the 1st signal. CONSTITUTION:A phase circuit 215 is a circuit which generates a reference signald required to demodulate a 120 deg. chroma signal from a 120 deg. chroma signal from a 120 deg. chroma generating circuit by demodulating circuits 216-218 or R, G, and B, and generates such three subcarriers that the phase of a reference signal for demodulating a primary color signal G is 120 deg. and the phase of a reference signal for demodulating a primary color signal B is 240 deg. when a reference signal for demodulating a primary color signal R is 0 deg.. Then, the R, G, and B demodulating circuits 216-218 demodulate the 120 deg. chroma signal with the R, G, and B subcarriers to generate color difference signals R-M, G-M, and B-M, to which a monochroma signal M is added, thereby generating primary color signals R, G, and B.
