A casting mould, at least one mould part (12) of which is tightly fastened to a supporting body (10), delimits a mould cavity (26) which is surrounded all round by a sealing surface (D) and has for drawing the liquid out of the material at least one porous wall. From the reverse side of said wall, facing the supporting body (10), the mould part (12) is subjected to the effect of a hydraulic counterpressure which counteracts a pressure acting on the material in the mould cavity (26). The said mould part (12) is dish-shaped and designed so as to be impermeable on its reverse side, has a contact surface corresponding at least approximately to the profile of the sealing surface (D) and is supported with this contact surface on the supporting body (10) so that the two together enclose a uniform counterpressure space (28). During die casting, the counterpressure is kept at least approximately as high as the pressure in the mould cavity (26). As a result the mould part itself cannot be overstressed by high casting pressures and accordingly permits numerous castings. <IMAGE>
