PURPOSE:To relieve the load of software by providing a virtual disc control section to incorporate a disc control section and a communication control section thereby unifying the input/output operation from the software. CONSTITUTION:The virtual disc control section 2 uses a device and a unit designated by input/output request from a CPU10 to discriminate whether the request is given to a disc control section 5 or to data on other data processing unit connected to a communication line 7 through a communication control section 4. In using the control section 4, communication is executed based on the communication rules corresponding to the input/output request, the data is transmitted from a data buffer 3 in a form disc or a reception data of disc form is stored in the buffer 3. The data transfer between the buffer 3 and a main storage device 9 is executed by a DMA control section 8 via the virtual disc control section 2 in the same way as the case with the control section 5.
