Differential gear arrangement

A differential gear arrangement for a motor vehicle provided with transverse engine-transmission arrangement and permanent all-wheel drive is proposed, in which a first differential gear, providing the speed differential on the front axle, and a second differential gear, providing the drive torque distribution to the front and rear axle and the speed differential between these axles, are held concentrically one above another in a common transmission housing. In order to obtain an especially compact and space-saving arrangement, it is proposed that both differential gears be designed as spur gear differential gears essentially inside a cylindrical disc-shaped space defined by the drive gear (5) driven by the output shaft of the engine-transmission arrangement.
