PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of highly accurate machining of component parts and to make it possible to shorten the time of assembly and adjustment of a printer, by providing, between a paper feed cassette and a limiting roller, an auxiliary limiting device for correcting the skew of paper sheets. CONSTITUTION:Between a paper feed cassette and a limiting roller 5, there is provided an auxiliary limiting device 4 which also serves as a paper guide path together with an outer guide plate 19 and an inner guide plate, having one support member 40 rotatably fixed by a pin 42 and the other end support member 33 fixed to an adjusting member 33. The device 4 is supported movably in the longitudinal direction by means of an adjusting screw 37 integrally incorporated with an adjusting head 39. Further, the amount of skew of the paper sheet 9 after passing through the limiting roller 5 is measured, and if the leading end of the paper sheet skews, for example, as shown by 9'', the adjusting screw 37 is rotated by means of the adjusting head 39 so that the adjusting member 35 is moved in the direction of the arrow indicated with the two-dot chain line to correct the leading end which therefore, takes the position 9'. Thus, there is no necessity of fabricating component parts with a high degree of accuracy, and it is possible to shorten the time of assembly and adjustment.
