PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition capable of driving over a wide range of temperatures, high in followability even in sharp external variable change, quick in response, appropriate in driving voltage, good in dynamically driving characteristics, for use in display device, comprising a plural of compounds each with specific structure. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising a combination of at least two compounds selected from (A) a compound of formula I, (B) a second compound of formula II, (C) a third compound of formula III and (D) a fourth compound of formula IV or V (wherein R1 and R2 are each 1-12C, R3 and R4 are each 1-10C, R5 is 1-10C, R6 is 1-12C, R7 and R8 are each 1-1C, R9 and R10 are each 1-9C straight chain alkyl). This composition is pref. further incorporated with (E) a fifth compound of formula VI, (F) a sixth compound of formula VII, (G) a seventh compound of formula VIII, or (H) a eighth com pound of formula IX (wherein R11 is 1-10C, R12 is 1-10C, R13 and R14 are each 1-12C, R15 and R16 are each 1-8C straight chain alkyl).
