PURPOSE:To produce stably uniaxially stretched material of vinylidenefluoride series resin whose strength is high, by a method wherein a melt index of resin to be used is made small and a melt-index ratio is made into a specific one. CONSTITUTION:Vinylidene fluoride series resin whose melt index MI2.16 measured at the temperature of 230 deg.C and a load of 2.16kg is less than 2.0g/10 minute and a ratio MI10/MI2.16 of melt index M10 measured at the load of 10kg to the foregoing MI2.16 is less than 20 is melted, extruded and made to stretch in a uniaxial direction. The vinylidene fluoride series resin is made to orient in a uniaxial direction after the same has been extruded by an extruding machine by melting and kneading normally at the temperature of an extent of 200-300 deg.C by adding a plasticizing agent, coloring agent and various kinds of auxiliaries according to necessity. The orientation in the uniaxial direction is based on an orientation method wherein orientation is performed in the direction of extrusion by heating at the orienting temperature after cooling and curing by performing melting and extrusion.
