PURPOSE:To obtain a font memory of a highly efficient usage by dividing dot patterns of longitudinal Y line of font of respective letters to be printed into x numbered portions consisting of units of plural number of dots; and by storing the above in the prescribed addresses of the initial An and the succeeding An +(m-1)XX+(k-1). CONSTITUTION:Global informations (font style code, width byte, width dot etc.) are stored in the initial No.16 Subsequent to 0016, the initial numbers (4 bytes) of dot patterns of respective letters etc. to be stored are stored one after another. The magnitude of the above region varies according to number of letters and letter pitches. Then, the dot patterns of respective characters are stored in the prescribed addressed with byte unit, starting from the initial address An. The portion of the dot patterns in the longitudinal line (m) and in the lateral byte (k) is stored in the address of an (m-1)XX+(k-1).
