PURPOSE:An aromatic polyamide fiber reinforced composite material having improved reinforcing effect, obtained by blending and dispersing an aromatic polyamide fiber impregnated with a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin into a matrix. CONSTITUTION:(A) 10-95wt%, especially 30-75wt% (in ground material) pulp or short fibers of an aromatic polyamide comprising a homopolymer of terephthalic acid and p-phenylene diamine as a main component is impregnated with (B) a solution of a thermoplastic resin (preferably crystalline resin) or a thermosetting resin in a solvent by hot rolls, and the solvent is removed, and the resultant material is solidified and ground to give a ground material, 0.5-70wt% of the material is dispersed into a matrix (preferably plastic, or cement). 1.5-30.5wt% material is dispersed in the case of cement, and 1.5-70wt% material in the case of resin.
