PURPOSE:To obtain good adhesiveness and corrosion resistance by forming a golden-color film consisting of TiN or titanium carbonitride on a metal or heat-resistant base material and forming further a Ti film thereon then subjecting the Ti film to an anodic oxidation treatment to form the golden color thereby eliminating the variance of the color tone of the resulted golden -color exterior parts. CONSTITUTION:A wristwatch case, etc. made of a stainless steel as a base material are set to an ion plating device and after the inside of said device is evacuated to a vacuum, Ti is heated and evaporated by an electron beam to form discharge plasma in an N2 atmosphere so that the golden-color compd. film of TiN is formed on the above-mentioned case. The gaseous N2 is then interrupted and the Ti is evaporated to form the Ti film. The case, etc. are subjected to the anodic oxidation treatment to form the golden color by an ammonium tartrate bath, etc., in succession thereto, by which the above- mentioned case having the golden color equiv. to the golden color of a gold film is obtd. The same effect is obtd. even by forming the film of TiN or Ti by a physical vapor deposition method such as sputtering or chemical vapor deposition method utilizing thermal reaction, etc.
