PURPOSE:To stabilize the flying force and the flying direction of an ink, by a system wherein a thermal head or an electrode brought into contact with an ink carrier sheet is formed in a two-layer construction, and a DC voltage is impressed between a conductor part of the two-layer construction and the ink carrier sheet comprising a metallic film. CONSTITUTION:For recording, the ink carrier sheet 23 is moved in the direction of arrow (a). When an ink 24 supported in an ink nozzle 23a comes to the position of the thermal head 20, an electric field with polarities as shown is generated between a heating element 21 and the sheet 23 with an insulating layer 22 there between, so that the conductive ink 24 corresponding to a picture element opposed to the insulating layer 22 is drawn toward the element 21 under the effect of the electric field, and is brought into close contact with the insulating layer 22 against the surface tension thereof. Since the ink 24 in close contact with the layer 22 is efficiently supplied with heat from the element 21 of the thermal head 20, the ink 24 is caused to fly toward a recording paper 9 with a fixed flying force and perpendicularly to the sheet 23, under a stable bubble pressure. |
