PURPOSE:To improve the gas permeability and pelletizability of raw materials to be sintered during pelletizing under humidity control and to enhance the productivity by blending pellet feed with other raw materials to be sintered without adding coke breeze, pelletizing them under humidity control, adding coke breeze, and carrying out pelletizing by rolling. CONSTITUTION:Pellet feed and other raw materials except coke breeze are sent from raw material hoppers 1-5 to a primary mixer 7, where they are firmly pelletized under humidity control. Coke breeze is then added to the resulting pellets from a hopper 6 at a position just before a secondary mixer 8 or in the mixer 8, and secondary pelletizing by rolling and sintering are car ried out. Thus, the productivity can be enhanced in case of <=about 20% pellet feed content.
