PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording medium capable of being suitably used for printing multiple times while preventing delamination of a heat-fusible coloring material layer, by incorporating a polyurethane resin and/or a phenoxy resin into an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:The polyurethane resin is obtained by a reaction of a polyfunctional isocyanate with one or a mixture of high molecular weight and low molecular weight active hydrogen compounds having two or more active hydrogen atoms in the molecule thereof, and preferably has a softening point of not lower than 40 deg.C and a molecular weight of 2,000-5000,000. The phenoxy resin can be obtained by polycondensation of epichlorohydrin with bisphenol A, and the end thereof may be an epoxy group or may have reacted with a carboxylic acid, an amine or the like. The phenoxy resin preferably has a softening point of not lower than 40 deg.C and a molecular weight of 800-500,000. The adhesive layer can be provided on a base by a coating means such as hot melt coating and solvent coating, and the thickness thereof is preferably 0.3-3mum. |
