2-Nitro-3-aminopyridin wird hergestellt durch Nitrierung von N,N'-Di-(3-pyridyl)-harnstoff mit nachfolgender Hydrolyse. Der dabei als Zwischenprodukt auftretende N,N'-Di-(2-nitro-3-pyridyl)-harnstoff ist eine neue Verbindung. Das Verfahrens-Endprodukt 2-Nitro-3-aminopyridin ist hauptsächlich ein Zwischenprodukt auf verschiedenen Sachgebieten.
