PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion caused by condensed materials at a sleeve tube, supporting shafts, sleeve supporting lags and the bearings or the like by a method wherein the position of a damper is set a point where a combustion air temperature in an air preheating chamber is higher than a dew point of combustion gas in the inner cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A damper 6 for adjusting gas flow rate is arranged at the lower part of the chimney 5A of the inner cylinder 5 of an air preheater 1. If a damper 6 is positioned at its horizontal position, the chimney 5A is closed and all the amount of ignited gas is flowed in the thermal conduction pipe 8. When the damper 6 is closed, a local positive pressure is generated at the upstream side of the damper 6(lower side of the damper 6). As a result, combustion gas is flowed into the sleeve tube 24 through a clearance between the pipe 23 and the sleeve tube 24 and it is cooled with air in the air preheating chamber 9A which flows outside of the sleeve tube 24. However, since the damper 6 is arranged at a location where the combustion air temperature in the air preheating chamber 9A is higher than the dew point of the combustion gas, the condensed material of sulfide oxide contained in the combustion gas is not produced. |
