Immunoassay procedures for unstable analytes utilizing cross-reactive antibodies. The molecular structure of the analyte is modified to become specific to the antibody. The test procedure is conducted as competitive, sequential, immunometric, or two site immunometric immunoassays. Particular application relates to the qualitative and quantitative determination of betalactam antibiotics in fluids, with particular emphasis on penicillin detection and measurement. |
