PURPOSE:To make a locking device easily applicable to various metallic molds by fitting a guide pin projected to the 1st mold of the metallic mold into a pin hole provided to the 2nd mold to mate the molds and engaging a wedge body to the 2nd mold and guide pin thereby locking the metallic molds. CONSTITUTION:An annular groove 4 consisting of slopes 4a, 4b at the top end is formed to the lower mold 11 of the metallic mold 1 and the guide pin 2 is projected thereto. On the other hand, the pin hole 3, a square insertion hole 5 which is opened at one end to the outside surface of the upper mold 12 and is opened at the other end into the hole 3 and a U-shaped insertion groove 6 which opens into the hole 3 while facing the side circumferential surface of the pin hole 3 are formed to the upper mold 12, The top and bottom surfaces 5a, 6a, 5b, 6b of the hole 5 and the groove 6 are provided respectively respectively with the inclinations corresponding to the top and bottom surfaces 4a, 4b of the abovementioned annular groove 4. The top end of the pin 2 is fitted into the hole 3 and the wedge body 11 of the locking device l is advanced by a hydraulic cylinder 9 into the hole 5 to engage the forked part 11b at the top end of the body 11 with the groove 4 and the groove 6 to lock the molds in the stage of lowering the mold 11 and mating the same with the mold 11. |
