PURPOSE:To obtain a long and less varied thin pipe of soft quality by varying the bending strain given with rolling a pipe continuously from zero until the strain slightly over the yielding strain. CONSTITUTION:The pipe 1a to be straightened is fed by belt feeders 2, 3, 4 and advanced in the right angles direction with the pipe axle with self-rotating in the order of 1b, 1c-1d. The pipe under straightening is bent in such a curvature as to give somewhat larger strain than the pipe yielding strain in the pipe axle direction by a rack 6 around the center part of a backing base 7. On the other hand the curvature is set in the state of zero at both ends of the backing base 7. The force like adhering sufficiently to the natural curvature of the backing base 7 the pipes 1b, 1c-1d is applied from the upper part on the belt feeders 2, 3, 4. The rotation and advance is therefore given to the pipes 1b, 1c-1d by the belt feeding. With this straightening method the length accuracy of the thin pipe of soft quality is increased.
