PURPOSE:To improve the work efficiency by displaying the number of remainder pages to be printed from a page counter provided in the output side of a buffer memory where plural-line components of data are stored. CONSTITUTION:A buffer memory 2 where data of plural lines can be stored is connected between a main storage device 1 and a printer 6, and a print information detecting part 5 connected to the output side of the memory 2 is connected to a display device 4 through a display control part 3, and line feed and page alignment code comparing parts 51 and 52 are connected to line and page counters 53 and 54 respectively to constitute the detecting part 5. The number of lines in one page is indicated by the counter 53, and the number of remainder pages to be printed is indicated by the counter 54. Contents of the counter 54 are counted down by the coincidence detection signal from the comparing part 52, and contents of counters 53 and 54 are taken out by the control part 3 and are displayed on the display device 4.
