PURPOSE:To increase the cooling efficiency of an electromagnetic a magnet winding and the compactness and achieve high performance of an electromagnetic optical element by interposing a small-gage wire with good thermal conductive materials in the gap between the magnet windings. CONSTITUTION:Small-gage wires 2 that make contact to magnet windings 1 and can be housed in the gap between the magnet windings are wound in the gap between the magnet windings along the magnet windings. These small- gage wires 2 touch a water jacket. The small-gage wires 2 use unclad copper wires. This electromagnetic type electron lens forms a water conduit 4 at the outside section of a yoke 3 and the yoke itself is used additionally as the water jecket. A bundle of three small-gage wires 2 are wound around the outermost layer between the windings 1 and the contact area against the yoke is increased.
