PURPOSE:To attain interpolation with a small capacity ROM by using multi- value input, using a ROM for each bit to apply interpolation and outputting a multi-value with synthesis. CONSTITUTION:An M-bit input signal is inputted from an input terminal 200. When the code is not a natural binary code, an input circuit 60 is provided for the conversion to the natural binary code. Its binary signal is inputted to basic interpolation filters 50-57 at each bit. In the basic interpolation filters 50-57, the impulse response is cut off by five-symbol length being objective to front and rear position, and in applying interpolation one symbol at 8 points, a 6-bit shift register 1, a 3-bit counter 2 and a 9-bit address ROM are included. When the input bit number is (n), the address capacity of the ROM is in total 3+6Xlog2n and when the input is a binary (serial) value, the capacity is 3+6Xn, then the effect is remarkable with a larger (n).
