A simulated wire wheel trim comprises a center assembly 14 having components which mechanically snap together. An inner spoke retainer plate 46 forms annular grooves and recesses which receive portions of radially extending simulated spokes. An outer spoke retainer plate fits over and engages some or all of the spokes and includes a radially inwardly axially outwardly directed reversely bent flange 62 which snaps over the radially outer edge of the inner spoke retainer plate. An alternate embodiment is described wherein the inner spoke retainer plate has an inwardly and axially and radially directed reversely bent flange which bitingly engages the outer spoke retainer plate to clampingly engage the spokes in position. These constructions reduce the total number of component parts in the wheel trim assembly and simplify the assembly thereof. <IMAGE> |
