PURPOSE:To fix stably a magnetic head to a carriage with easy control by using a head holder containing a substrate having a contact with the lower surface of the carriage, a vertical plate rising up at the end of said substrate and plural holding arms bent from the vertical plate. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 28 is set opposite to the recording track of a magnetic disk fixed to a carriage 27. A box type groove 29 is provided on the end part of the carriage 27, and a base plate 31 containing a fixed head 28 is positioned and fixed to the upper edge 30 of the groove 29. The head 28 is interposed by a head holder 35 so that a desired distance P is secured between the alignment line X-X and the axial line J-J of a follower pin. The holder 35 contains a substrate 32 adhered close to the bottom surface of the carriage 27, a vertical plate 33 rising up from the edge of the substrate 32 and plural holding plates 34 bent from the plate 33. Then it is confirmed through the measurement of a microscope, etc. that the head 28 is set at a correct position. Thus the head 28 is fixed stably by an adhesive, etc. with easy control.
