PURPOSE:To prevent a vane of a vane-type compressor from dropping down inside a suction port in time of low speed rotation to damage the compressor, by setting a position of the suction port installed in a front plate, in the more radial inner side than a cam surface. CONSTITUTION:A suction port 35 is installed in a front plate 23 of a vane-type compressor, but an edge at the radial outer side of this suction port 35 is situated at the more radial inner side than a cam surface 29. Therefore, as in time of low speed rotation, if a vane is not pressed to the cam surface, the vane is in no case dropped down inside the suction port, thus any damage to the vane-type compressure is preventable.
