PURPOSE:To obtain random type pitch yarn having improved molecular orientation in the fiber axis direction and dense cross-sectional orientation, by packing a channel just before a spinning nozzle with heat-resistant filament aggregate in a specific state and carrying out spinning. CONSTITUTION:A pitch channel just before the spinning nozzle 17 is packed with the heat-resistant filament aggregate 20 in such a way that the axial line of each filament is approximately in parallel with the pitch channel. The molten optically isotropic pitch 11 is pressurized by the pressure piston 13, pressed into the heat-resistant filament aggregate 20, and spun through the spinning nozzle 17. The heat-resistant filament has preferably 5-200mu diameter and 30-12,000 fibers/mm<2> packing density.
