NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R<1> is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen; R<2> is H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl; R<3> is lower alkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted with lower alkyl or halogen, pyridyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl). EXAMPLE:3-Benzylidene-6-phenyl-1,4-oxathiyn-2-one. USE:Pharmaceuticals having anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by reacting (A) the novel alpha-acetylthiocinnamic acid derivative of formula II which can be produced easily by acylating the alpha-mercaptocinnamic acid derivative of formula V with acetyl anhydride of formula IV with (B) the compound of formula III (X is halogen) preferably in a solvent, in the presence of an alkaline catalyst such as triethylamine, especially preferably at 40-50 deg.C. |
