PURPOSE:To improve the production yield as well as the mass productivity by bonding together a recording/reproduction gap formed with the 1st and 2nd cores for recording/reproduction and an erasion gap formed with the 1st and 2nd cores for erasion by bonding agent like glass, etc., and forming the sloping grooves to both cores for recording/reproduction and erasion so that those grooves pass through the upper or lower part of both apexes. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head contains a recording/reproduction gap 13 formed with the 1st and 2nd cores 5 and 6 for recording/reproduction and an erasion gap formed with the 1st and 2nd cores 7 and 8 respectively. These cores for both recording/reproduction and erasion are bonded together by a bonding agent like glass, etc. via a nonmagnetic member 15. Then the sloping grooves 9 are formed so that they pass the upper or lower part of both apexes 18 and 19. As a result, the track width can be controlled as desired. It is desirable to form those grooves 9 so that they are straight when viewed from the contact face of a medium.
