PURPOSE:To make it possible to be a retard value at the lowest possible limit of knocking, avoiding an empty knock in time of starting, and keep off a worsening of engine blowing up due to the retard, by altering the retard value according to a degree of boost. CONSTITUTION:In time of starting, since a booster sensor 5 is turned on, there is an output out of a monostable multivibrator 9, and at the specified engine speed range, also there is an output out of a comparator 12, whereby a switch 10 is turned on. This on-time is only a certain period of time being delayed for the specified time since the sensor has been turned on. Therefore, retard pulse signal out of a monostable multivibrator 3 comes to be entered into a waveform compounder 2 via the switch 10 in consequence, so that it is compounded together with a signal out of a breaker 1 in this waveform compounder. Accordingly, after an accelerator is on, a period (the specified engine speed range) during which knocking occurs grows large whereby the retard is carried out, and the retard value is decreased in proportion as depth of a boost comes deeper with an increase in engine speed, thus a worsening of engine blowing up is prevented from occurring. |
