PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction of a paint pump due to solidification of paints from occurring, by attaching a cup, surrounding the said part, to a projec tion part of a plunger driving rod projecting from a cylinder, while storing a solvent inside this cup, and hermetically sealing the cup top. CONSTITUTION:At a projection part of a plunger driving rod 11, projecting from a cylinder of a paint pump 7 and to be connected to an output shaft of an air motor 1, there is provided with a cup 21 surrounding this projection part. A solvent S for paints is stored in this cup 21, while a hermetically sealed body consisting of a bellows 23 is attached to the top. Therefore, with reciprocating motion in the driving rod, even if paints are stuck to the driving rod, they are dissolved by the solvent inside the cup so that a malfunction of the pump due to solidification of the paint is in no case entailed there. In addition, since the hermetically sealed body is attached to the cup, reduction in the solvent due to evaporation is preventable.
