DRIVER FOR OPTICAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING HEAD

PURPOSE:To improve the control performance and also to attain high-speed property by coupling a focusing lens to a support stand which holds the posture of the focusing lens by means of a spring member and therefore transmitting the driving power of a driving power generating means directly to the focusing lens. CONSTITUTION:The driving power is transmitted directly to a mobile matter 2 including a focusing lens 1, and the posture of the matter 2 is held by the stand 4 via a spring member 5. Then the stage 4 moves in response to the movement of the matter 2 via the member 5. In such a simple constitution, the effects given to the position control of the lens 1 due to the vibration or the resonance produced by the shift of the stand 4 can be reduced. Furthermore the detection of a tracking error signal receives virtually no effect despite the shift of the matter 2 toward the focus direction since the matter 2 contains a total reflecting prism 13 having the 1st and 2nd reflecting surfaces 13a and 13b. Thus the control performance and the high-speed properties can be im proved for the position of the matter 2.
