PURPOSE:To attain the connection between a magnetic head and a cable with a one-touch operation by connecting the pin side or the socket side of a connector for the head and the cable to the magnetic head for a floppy disk. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic head 12 at attached to a carriage 4 is connected to a cable 5 via a connector 14, a socket 12 is set at the head side 12 with a different space secured only at an area from other spaces between pins 13 in order to avoid the misconnection of the pin 13 of a case 11 of the pin side provided to a gimbal 3. While one of pins 13 is earthed to the gimbal 3 by means of a conductive coating material. The lead wires 10 of the head 12 are connected to the cable 5. In such a way, a connector 14 is formed to secure an easy and assured connection between the head 12 and the cable 5 for a magnetic head device.
