PURPOSE:To improve an operability with a simple constitution by providing a network control part which transmits a sound signal and a picture signal separately. CONSTITUTION:A picture that is read after the scan of an original 32 is stored at a line memory 54 and after a redundancy is eliminated according to the mode of an information compression part 56, it is transferred to a modem part 60 where a signal is modulated and is transmitted, through a network control part 48, to a line separated from the sound signal. Therefore, a long with that any required part extracted from an original can be transmitted freely by using a portable picture information means, a picture information can be read out with placing a call.
