PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a driving circuit, miniaturize the mounting surface area and lower power consumption by providing a sub-driving circuit between a semiconductor integrating circuit for analog switching and driving terminals for image pickup elements, the sub-driving circuit having an impedance converting capability. CONSTITUTION:Pulses from a driving pulse generator 20 are transmitted to control terminals 35, 38 of the semiconductor integration circuit for analog switching 30 to control internal analog switches 31, 32. When the pulse 600 is applied to the terminal 35, the switch 31 is changed over to an input terminal 34 to output a pulse 700 at an output terminal 39. When the impedance of an inner gate 53 of the solid-state image pickup element 50 is negligibly large and the internal impedance of voltage sources 11, 12 are negligibly small, the rise time 703 and decay time 704 of the pulse 700 are determined by the turn-on resistance of the switch 31 and the inner load capacitance 54 of an element 51. Hence, it is the capacitance 54 and the turn-on resistance of the switch 31 that determines whether the element 50 is drivable or not.
