PURPOSE:To readout a character indicating the condition of a recorded picture simply from the recorded picture by storing character data in a memory as a part of the picture together with the picture data and displaying the character data on a prescribed area of the picture. CONSTITUTION:A code converter/writer 7 writes character data stored in a character memory 2 in a specific area of a picture memory 1 by an ASCII code e.g. Thereby, a specific code storing area is prepared in the picture memory 1 and the code of the character data is stored in the specific area together with the picture data. Consequently, the characters obtained by developing the character data stored in the character memory 2 are superposed to the picture data stored in the picture memory 1 and the code of the character data and the superposed data are outputted from a video data adding part 4. The contents are displayed on the picture plane of a display device 5 as the data of the display output and recorded on a recorder 6. |
