The invention relates to a process for the production of substantially weathering-resistant, synthetic-resin-bound, refractory bricks or other shaped articles from a free-flowing, usually water-containing mixture of high-temperature-resistant, inorganic base materials by adding from 0.1 to 20% by weight, based on the mixture of the inorganic base materials, of synthetic resins at room temperature. The synthetic resins employed are a liquid phenolic resin of the resol type, a pulverulent phenolic resin of the novolak type, a liquid furan resin or mixtures of these resins, optionally in the presence of a catalytically or chemically active curing agent. |
