PURPOSE:To manufacture spheres in a great number quickly by cutting out square rods from a plate of ceramic sintering made through hot sintering process, cutting each rod into cubes, and by rotating a rotary disc having a grinding element layer with them which jet out together with high pressure fluid. CONSTITUTION:Square rods are cut out from a plate of ceramic sintering formed in a hot press and cut into cubes as material element 1. A number of such elements 1 are supplied from a material element supply part 8 to a plurality of nozzles 9, whereto also high-pressure liquid 13 is fed from a high- pressure liquid supply device 7. Then a tray-shaped rotary disc 2 is rotated by a motor 5 to allow both material elements 1 and high-pressure liquid 13 to jet out toward a grinding element layer 3 at the indented bottom of the rotary disc 2 in order to change these cubic elements 1 into spheres. After one or more cycles of this process to ensure that the elements obtain fine sphericalness, they undergo a finishing process such as lapping to have smooth surfaces. This manufacturing method will enable manufacture of a great number of spheres in a short time.
