PURPOSE:To improve the addition yield of a component adjusting agent and to make out-of-furnace component adjustment of a molten metal at a low cost by heating the component adjusting agent and charging the same at an adequate speed into the molten metal out of a furnace. CONSTITUTION:The component adjusting agent is accelerated by using an accel erating device in the method for the component adjustment of the molten metal such as molten iron tapped from a blast furnace by dissolving directly the component adjusting agent into the molten metal. The speed of the component adjusting agent particles in the stage of charging the same to the molten metal is adjusted to v=((20.delta)/(rho.Dp))<1/2> or above (where, delta; the surface tension of the molten metal, dyn/cm, rho; the density of the component adjusting agent, g/cm<3>, Drho; the size of the component adjusting agent particle, cm, v; the particle speed of the component adjusting agent, cm/sec). The component adjusting agent is thus introduced into the molten metal by overcoming the resistance such as surface tension of the molten metal, by which the addition yield is improved and the adjustment of the molten metallic components to a narrow width is made possible. |
