摘要 PURPOSE:To produce Cr and Mn contg, ferrous metal having a low phosphorus content by adding a specific ratio of a rare earth element to the ferrous metal contg. easily oxidizing elements such as Cr and Mn, stirring the metal to dephosphorize the same and subjecting the metal to oxidation refining after removing the dephosphorization slag. CONSTITUTION:The rare earth element such as mischmetal is added at 0.1wt% ratio to the melt of a crude stainless steel, high Mn crude steel, etc. contg. the easily oxidizing metals such as Cr and Mn and the molten metal is stirred in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to cause the reaction so that the P in the molten metal is floated in the form of the phosphide of the rare earth element in the slag. After the dephosphorization slag is separated from the molten metal, the molten metal is subjected to the oxidation refining to decarburize and refine the crude steel as well as to oxidize the remaining excessive rare earth element to slag. Such slag is removed and the stainless steel and high Mn steel of the low phosphorus content are produced while the oxidation loss of the Cr and Mn is suppressed.
