PURPOSE:To cope quickly which all conditions by executing recording or reproduction to or from an optical disk by a laser. CONSTITUTION:When a bell signal detecting circuit 24 detects an incoming signal, a CPU connects a telephone line 22 to an automatic answering telephone set TAM side by a Tr Q and relay 25, and drives an optical disk LD which has recorded a response message OGM. When end information of the optical disk LD is detected by a signal processor 34, the CPU ends its reproduction, turns on switches S2, S5 in order to record a receiving message ICM, turns off S1, S3 and S4, and records the ICM next to the OGM. When a remote control detecting circuit 38 detects a remote control signal from in the OGM by executing a remote control operation from a telephone set 20 in the course of sending out the OGM, the CPU controls instantaneously a pickup arm 32 and can reproduce the ICM. Also, even if the telephone set 20 is hooked off in the course of reproducing the ICM, the CPU detects it and can set the telephone set to a holding gate.
