Rapidly regenerating frequently used compressed air dryer

In a system supplying compressed air to a consuming unit esp. a multi-circuit vehicle brake system, the feed line connecting a pressure regulator to an air dryer includes a valve which in the intervals of supplying working air supplies an auxiliary container for regenerating the dryer. A timer on the pressure regulator actuates the valve up to four times during a switching cycle to provide extra regeneration, esp. under the control of a moisture-sensor in the line from air-dryer to braking system. The sensor ensures the regeneration system is not operated unnecessarily often.
