PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism for turning the top end of a torch and to operate surely said mechanism by applying the link mechanism of a parallelogram to turn the top end of the torch. CONSTITUTION:The torch 29 is moved in the horizontal direction of a weld line when the torch is moved along a rail 10 by a motor in a welding machine body 12. The torch is moved upward and downward during welding of the curved part of the weld line by driving another motor to move upward and downward a block 16. An arm 25 is turned by a motor which revolves a pinion 23 to turn the torch 29 so as to keep the torch 29 directed at a prescribed angle toward the curved part of the weld line. The torch is moved in the above- mentioned manner as the arm 25, a connecting rod 28 and a supporting rod 26 form the parallelogram and as the torch 29 and a gear 31 as well as the connecting rod 28 and a gear 30 are respectively connected to each other. |
