PURPOSE:To prevent a paper from making contact with a paper-supplying roller or the like and prevent the paper from jamming, by a method wherein when reversely feeding a paper supplied through an automatic paper-supplying passage, the paper is returned into a paper-retracting passage without returning it into the automatic paper-supplying passage. CONSTITUTION:Two paper guides 20, 21 are oppositely provided on a paper- supplying guide 14, thereby forming therebetween the paper-retractign passage S separately from the automatic paper-supplying passage R. After first-time page-by-page recording is conducted at a printing position P, a thermal head 18 is separated from a platen 16. Where the subsequent page-by-page recording is to be conducted, the platen 16 is reversely rotated on detection of the trailing end of a cut paper 12 by a sensor 10, thereby reversely feeding the paper 12 to an initial position. In this case, the paper 12 is guided by the paper guides 20, 21 to enter the passage S. Thereafter, the head 18 is again pressed againt the platen 16, and the subsequent page-by-page recording is conducted. |
