The sampler is designed to remove samples from granular products at rest and configured as a pipe worm, which is assembled with a sample down-taker of the cell-wheel type. During the first phase of the sampling, the tube worm is screwed down into the product at a speed which is equal to one worm turn spacing per revolution of the worm. When the desired depth is reached, the transport speed of the worm changes, so that the primary sample is separated from the product and sent through the down- taker, where the analysis sample is taken, while the excess is returned to the sample stage. <IMAGE>
