PURPOSE:To enable an output member to be reset rapidly and easily after correction of a composition or images, by designating a resetting position of the output member on the basis of information sent from a final character position storage part and a storage part storing the final position of the output member. CONSTITUTION:An FL point address in an address register 304 and a PE point address in an address register 302 are compared with each other by a comparing circuit 334, and when the addresses disaccord with each other, data transfer is repeated until a status flip-flop 339 is set, whereby a memory 40 is rewritten. Next, an accord signal from the comparing circuit 336 is set into the flip-flop 339, and when setting of a quantity 319 of back feed to the PE point is detected by a discriminating circuit 340, the quantity 319 is outputted to a printer 60. Then, when setting of a displacement of the carriage to the PE point is detected by the discriminating circuit 340, the displacement 320 is outputted to the printer 60, thereby returning the carriage to the PE point. Subsequently, the content at a BF point address in a register 301 is transferred to registers 302, 303, 304, and the quantity 319 of back feed and the displacement 320 to the PE point are reset. |
