PURPOSE:In wet synthesis method in an alkali aqueous solution, to obtain the titled crystallite of perovskite type having high uniformity of composition and high purity, and a little lattice strain without requiring heat treatment, by specifying pH and the reaction temperature. CONSTITUTION:A soluble Ti compound or its hydrolyzate is reacted with a lead compound in an aqueous solution at >= 12.7pH at >= 175 deg.C. Consequently, lead titanate crystallite of perovskite phase can be selectively synthesized. The prepared crystallite is extremely uniform cubic granules, and has improved orientation. The crystallite has high stoichiometric properties during synthesis and has high purity, so it has improved characteristics and a little lattice strain without carrying out heat treatment particularly. Consequently, it is considered to be extremely advantageous for piezoelectric characteristics and pyroelectric characteristics.
