PRODUCTION OF CONNECTION COLUMNAR BODY FOR STEEL PIPE CONSTRUCTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a product and to reduce the cost thereof by casting centrifugally a molten steel after dividing said steel to two materials prior to casting and forming prenotches in common use as welding grooves between respective pieces. CONSTITUTION:A sand mold 6 is disposed to a rotary metallic flask 5 of a centrifugal casting machine and plural pieces of connection columnar body pieces P are continuously and centrifugally cast. The mold 6 is so constituted as to be formed with the prenotches 8 in common use as the welding grooves. The molten steel is divided to two materials SA, SB and is supplied so that the materials suitable respectively for a diaphragm 2 and a panel zone 3 are disposed in the stage of centrifugal casting. The use of the inexpensive material is made possible by the above-mentioned method and therefore the cost is re duced and the quality of the product is improved on account of centrifugal casting.
