PURPOSE:To reach to a target level quickly and stably in automatic conditioning for aging an ion source, by increasing the acceleration voltage and current levels under the optimal condition for minimizing dispersion of beam. CONSTITUTION:Aging of ion source in neutron incident/heating experimental device is performed through automatic conditioning system. Under initial acceleration voltage, the acceleration current level is first brought near to the optimal condition then the setting level is increased until the acceleration current level will reach to a target level while satisfying the optimal condition thereafter it is departed gradually from the optimal condition to reach to the target level. Since the acceleration voltage and current are increased under the optimal condition for minimizing dispersion of beam, conditioning can be performed with relatively low rotation resulting in stable take-out of beam. |
