Support for ends of cable during insertion into cable sleeve

The support is of cruciform cross section and serves for coating the inner surfaces of cable sleeves with a hot melt adhesive, at least in certain regions. The support (6) is itself a shaped member of hot melt adhesive. Pref. the softening point of the support hot melt adhesive is below that of the hot melt adhesive coating (7) of the sleeve (1). The cable sleeve may have inside a second support, spaced from the first support at the edge. The spacing of the two support members is 0.5 to 2-times of the support length. In the securing process starts with inserting of the first support of hot melt adhesive between the cables inserted into the sleeve, followed by inserting a hose of shrinkable material over the sleeve region.
