An apparatus for controlling a plurality of dimensions on mechanical parts of different types fabricated in series comprises an intermediate tooling associated to each type of part and carrying feelers coming in contact with the part at the locations where the dimensions have to be measured. In order to enable the simultaneous measurement of a plurality of both inner and outer dimensions, the output elements (8a-8d, 13a-13d) of the different motion transmitting mechanisms (7a-7d, 12a-12d) are placed on the different intermediate toolings (5, 10) in the same relative positions so that, when each intermediate tooling (5, 10) is mounted on the frame (4) of the apparatus, they are facing the individual associated sensors (2a-2d) and in contact with the moving elements (3a-3d) of the latter, so that the displacements of the various feelers (6a-6d, 11a-11d) of each intermediate tooling (5, 10) are simultaneously transmitted by the respective motion transmitting mechanisms (7a-7d) to the moving elements (3a-3d) of the various sensors (2a-2d).
