PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion of marine livings to an off-shore structure, by a method wherein tow, having specified length and diameter, is densely filled in the surface, making contact with sea water, of the structure. CONSTITUTION:Corrosionproof paint or adhesive is coated on the surface, making contact with sea water, of a structure. Before the paint is dried, synthetic fiber or glass fiber, having a size of 1-50 denier and length of 0.5-20mm, is placed about 5-20mm away from the surface of the structure. By applying a d.c. voltage of 5-10kV between the surface and the tow, the tow is attracted by a static voltage and filed toward the surface, collides with the paint or the adhesive, and is vertically filled in the surface by means of the static voltage. |
